When you get married on October 30th, there's naturally a certain vibe that comes with it all. While they may not have had orange pumpkins and skeletons laying around, their decor was on point. I loved the black sequin bridesmaid dresses, the darker color florals, and touches of gold throughout their tablescapes. If "classy Halloween" was a style, they could have written the book on it! When Heather contacted me about photographing her wedding, I was super excited. I met her over 10 years ago when she was still in high school, leading her cheerleading squad. I have ordered cakes & treats from her several times the last few years, as she owns & operates her own baking business! Check her out at Sweet Queen Confections for the most delicious desserts. We met out at Lake Santa Fe in August 2020 for their engagement session, and that's when I knew their wedding would be a great time. Heather and James really enjoy each other's company, but also deeply value their bond! They both have such solid examples in love and commitment through their parents and families, and it was really fun to see this in action at their wedding. They chose to tie the knot at Rustic Oaks Ranch in High Springs, Florida, about a 20-minute drive from Gainesville. This venue is ideal because it offers an entire house as the bridal suite, a separate building for the groom across the property, a brand new white, covered ceremony site overlooking a pond, and a gorgeous barn that serves as the perfect reception site (complete with working fireplace... which we used that evening!).
